Features Oriental gardens

Oriental gardens are laid out asymmetrically and the focus is on a beautiful combination of various landscape elements, including trees, shrubs, streams or ponds, stones such as boulders, and various decorative elements. When various Oriental elements are well balanced, you experience that peace and serenity in your own garden.

Oriental garden plants

Looking at trees, plants and shrubs that fit well in an Oriental garden, the bonsai should certainly not be missed. Other good choices include the Japanese maple, azaleas and Japanese holly (Ilex Crenata). Japanese holly can be pruned into a variety of shapes. Ferns and moss are also a good addition. Choose shades of green and red. Lots of space? Then be sure to add grass or other green ground cover.

Walkways in oriental garden

Walkways in Oriental gardens preferably consist of pebbles. Create winding paths, because symmetry does not belong here! The walkways can be finished with larger pebbles. These pebbles are additionally found throughout the garden for decoration.

Oriental garden with pond

A pond, preferably with koi carp, is a real must-have in the Oriental garden. Go for a loosely shaped pond, finished with aquatic plants, boulders along the edges and - if space permits - a little bridge as well. In a small Oriental garden, you can also opt for a small pond with goldfish.

Seating areas in oriental garden

If it is possible then create the seating area by the pond so that you have a nice view. You can possibly finish a section with wood so that the sitting area has a comfortable surface. An Oriental-style arbor, tea house or canopy are good choices for this type of garden. Oriental furniture is decorated with scrolls and carvings.

Oriental garden accessories

Accessories may also feature lavishly in the Oriental garden. Here you can think of Japanese lanterns. And what about statues? A large Buddha statue, decorative elephants, or other special elements characterized by many curls and asymmetry. With beautiful accessories you create more balance in the garden.

Feel zen in your own garden

It's important to feel totally zen in your Oriental garden, every time. Choose curling walkways, comfortable seating areas and lots of Oriental elements that you can't help but love. This way, your garden will continue to excite you time and time again, while at the same time, you will be completely at peace. Feel free to let loose in the design.
