BURO Buiten realized a beautiful garden with walkway for this modern waterfront villa
Request a quoteModern waterfront villa

The modern villa is beautifully situated on the water and surrounded by vistas. Early in the process, Buro Buiten was involved in this project. This led to a seamless integration of interior and exterior. To provide the villa with a grande entrance and highlight potential sightlines, a spectacular walkway bridge was constructed. To give this bridge a natural place within the design, the water was brought closer to the house. This element also forms the heart of the design and lays the foundation for the harmony between the structures and nature. Choosing sober plantings and organic forms that match the soft shapes of the waterfront adds to this harmony.
The height differences in the garden are designed in such a way that the modern home is incorporated into nature. The strong vision and search for points of connection between home, garden and nature has resulted in a balanced whole. After this foundation, we will take the garden to an even higher level in intermediate steps. During this process you will continue to experience and experience in order to arrive at the creation of the ultimate outdoor domain.
In this project, Buro Buiten was able to create a balanced harmony between the home, natural elements and vistas. The construction of a spectacular walkway, organic shapes and height differences in the garden create the ultimate outdoor domain to live and experience in. As a client, what do I gain from this project "Modern villa on the water" as an example?
This project shows how a garden around a waterfront villa can turn into a peaceful, modern overall picture. You see how lines of sight towards the water have been enhanced, how terraces, paths andbeplantingwork together and how the architecture of the home is carried through into the garden. This helps you better imagine how your own waterfront lot can grow into one cohesive living environment.
How will this design help me make choices for the layout of my own waterfront garden?
In this garden we first considered walking routes, views from the house and the position of the water. Then terraces, stairs, lawn and decking were firmly set into a clear structure. You see how clear lines bring tranquility and how a strong main axis towards the water forms a logical backbone. You can take that principle into account when deciding where to sit, walk and look for yourself.
What can I learn from the way the water was incorporated into the design in this project?
The water here is not a loose background, but a full part of the plan. The decking, low edges and sightlines are worked out in such a way that you experience the water up close while keeping a safe, comfortable garden. This shows well how a design can enhance the view, without the garden consisting solely of hard edges at the quay.
How does this project show what is possible with materials and atmosphere around a modern villa?
In this garden, materials were chosen that support the architecture of the villa: clean lines, calm colors and clear surfaces. Continuing this consistently in terraces, steps and edges creates a calm image in whichbeplantingFor softness andseasonal operationprovides. You can see how abepA limited palette of materials creates richness, as long as the dimensions and composition are right.
What does this project say about how BURO Buiten would approach my own garden?
This example shows that BURO Buiten not only looks at the garden, but at the total: house, plot, view and daily use. First, the spatial structurebepaald, then materials follow, beplantingand details. You can expect the same approach with your project, with a design that enhances the qualities of the place and produces a garden that is as enjoyable in everyday life as it looks.
